Cheers to the good men
Cheers to the good men who stay. To the good men who find a spot and build their home. To the good men who aren’t fleet-footed; men who are present when they are needed. Good men who earn their keep, men who are touchstones of fatherhood.
Cheers to the good men who tuck the kids in bed, who fend off danger with the strength of their arms, who do not deceive. To the good men who do not string hearts along, whose nay is nay, whose yes is yes. Cheers to the good men who fashion security for their own, men who launch themselves in the eyes of danger. To the good men who do not prey upon women at their mercy, men who back off when they sense our discomfort. Good men who opine objectively, who do not sell their voices for morsels of pottage.
Cheers to the good men who stay faithful. To the good men who come home after the steam of the tiff has worn off. Men who stay. To the good men who come home after the day is done.
